Man pushes pregnant ex into hamburger buns

A 19-year-old Fort Walton Beach man was arrested after shoving his pregnant ex-girlfriend into a stack of hamburger buns. The man entered Back Yard Burgers on Mary Esther Cutoff and yelled into the kitchen that he wanted to speak with the victim, according to an Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office offense report. When she refused to come out, the man entered the kitchen and began to yell at her and others in the back. The man then placed his hands on the woman’s chest and shoved her, causing her to fall backwards onto a stack of crates containing hamburger buns. The victim stood back up and asked the man to leave several times, according to the report. He pushed her again and she tried to enter the manager’s office. The man attempted to close the door while she was in the doorway, but she managed to move before she was hit.

Charmaine Dragun discovers her heritage in Croatia

After all, man cannot live on beauty alone. Still, it must have been awful to say goodbye to all this forever. And that they did, swapping one island for another, to try their luck in Australia.Like so many of their countrymen and millions of others from around the world, they helped shape our land into the nation it is today: a rich brew of migrant cultures and influences. But what was life like for them back in their mother country? And what did they leave behind? These were our thoughts as we started a family road trip with two other members of the Dragun clan, my aunt Pamela and uncle Tony, to uncover the path of our ancestors. Before this adventure began we were ashamed to admit we knew little about my grandfather’s past. Dad’s father had always been a man of few words, and took most of the stories of his family and youth with him to the grave.

No more weekends off: P’s & C’s reporting

The great L.A. Times scribe Jim Murray once said, "Spring is the time of year when the ground thaws, trees bud, the income tax falls due — and everybody wins the pennant."

And so it is that your correspondent, memorably dubbed as the faux "crusading everyman" by one of our angrier blog participants, has already done his taxes, an annual end-of-January ritual before heading to spring training and being immersed in a six-week world where normal life is put on hold and baseball takes precedence over all else.

We'll be headed down Wednesday, a day before pitchers and catchers are officially required to report. Need some time to stock the fridge of the rental house and get a lay of the land in our new neighborhood, plus stop by the ballpark at Dark Star to see how many eager Braves arrived early.
